Construction and refurbishment of schools
Many schools are seriously dilapidated, being both old and of poor quality, dating back to the 1970-80. However, thanks to individual and corporate donations, some 25 schools have been rebuilt and many have been renovated and re-equipped with the assistance of members of Couleurs de chine. The association also contributes to the construction and refurbishment of schools, dormitories and playgrounds Work has been carried out at the request of teachers to improve working conditions : concrete playground surface to avoid dust in the classrooms, good quality blackboards instead of plain painted wooden planks, chairs and desks, a stage for end of year concerts, etc… Installation of toilets with methane tanks for lighting and heating is currently being planned.
Fitting out and equipping schools
All through the year many projects are carried out. Thanks to individual donations and corporate sponsorship, schoolyards, sports equipment and sanitation are installed in villages and school buildings. The equipment needed to use these buildings completes these projects
